My *&^& Does Stank!

rosesGreat day in the morning! It IS a GREAT day in the morning!

I’m still here, you’re still here. Some of us are not…and depending upon the circumstances, I guess that could be great as well.

Can’t believe it’s been a month, since I’ve connected with you all!
Life has been quite an experience for me (then again, most of my life is…quite the experience, that is).

Unfortunately, I have been without proper plumbing for the past two weeks. I am not able to use my bathroom upstairs in my living quarters, nor shower, nor use any of the sinks: bathroom/kitchen.

I began understanding a few years back, that how we react to our experience helps to define who we are: we find out what makes us, or breaks us, or stops us in our tracks, preventing us from moving forward.

Dealing literally and figuratively with sewage can illuminate the crappy areas of our lives. How do you deal with the crap, the do-do, the manure, the feces, the shitty parts of our lives? What happens when you cannot flush the crap away? When it doesn’t go down the right way and overflows into other areas of your life?

Perhaps you are a potential graduate from “Stankonia”. Perhaps you (like myself) are one who has believed at one time or another that your “*&^% don’t stink”, but as Outkast sings: “lean a little bit closer, see that roses really smell like boo-boo-boo”.

I’ve had to learn a few things about myself in the past couple of weeks. I have had to learn how to deal without the ‘creature comforts’ of life – “material comforts that contribute to physical ease and well-being, such as good food and accommodations.” – (google definition).

This experience has put me in touch with a lot of our brothers and sisters who have NEVER had the comforts of life, most of us are used to. Mainly being, the basic necessity of water in all of it’s manifestations (flushing, washing, cleaning, drinking).

It doesn’t help that the office is sitting on top of the basement where the *stink below* is emanating through the vents. Doors and windows must remain open, so we are able to get some air circulating in here.

FORTUNATELY, I have a small bathroom with toilet and sink in my office and that is how my son and I take care of business until this issue is cleared up. I was put up in a hotel last week, and will be making another visit this weekend to get cleaned up, and to get another respite, until the plumbing is taken care of.

Unlike Caroline, the subject of the video, my attitude has been pretty good. Not throwing a hissy fit. Not complaining….well, not too much.

I am understanding that s(*& does indeed happen, and that if at all possible, we should be as patient as possible and try to rise above whatever form our crap appears, or we will find ourselves pulled into the sewage cesspool itself.

That goes with crap from your past as well. Are you still swirling around in it? Or walking around like a dozen roses?

“I know you’d like to thank your s*&^ don’t stank
But lean a little bit closer
See that roses really smell like boo-boo
Yeah, roses really smell like boo-boo”

It may be time for you to deal with that stuff. You ready?

Loving the last sentence in the video, just because:
*Take one final look at the past….and…we’re OUT!*
